Welcome to the Kicklighter Resource Center, Inc. Website!

Welcome to the Kicklighter Resource Center, Inc. Website.  The Kicklighter Resource Center/Kicklighter Academy is the only local non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of children with autism and other developmental disabilities under the age of 6 with a special program specifically tailored to that child’s learning style.  Offering this type of one-on-one training specifically targets the child’s learning patterns.  In 2008, we are planning on expanding this program to include a lottery funded pre-school and possibly a kindergarten classroom.

The Kicklighter Resource Center’s Residential Program offers and provides safe and affordable individual housing for adults with mental and physical disabilities.  In 2008 we are planning on expanding this program in Chatham, Effingham and Bryan counties as the needs of the community dictate.

Not only does our Center offer these direct programs, but also offers Advocacy and Community Education programs.  These programs include Learning libraries, Fetal Alcohol Awareness clinics and support groups.

With the help and support of the United Way, individual donations, community donations and fund-raisers, the Kicklighter Resource Center will continue to make a difference in the lives of others.  For over 50 years the dreams of Mrs. Lilla Mae Kicklighter have been a reality and with the continued support of the community they will continue to grow.  Even though Mrs. Kicklighter has passed on, her dreams and aspirations are in the hearts and minds of each employee at the Kicklighter Resource Center.  She has left behind a legacy that continues to make a difference in the lives of others everyday.

For information about any of our programs or to volunteer to help, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.

 Sincerely,

Robert Kozlowski
